Data Source Connectivity
iCenter also provides a gateway to connect Autodesk® Inventor's™ iProperties
to other databases found within an organization, thus improving the re-use of data,
reducing errors and ensuring accurate bill of material information. Through the
use of database linking and formulas, iCenter can automatically populate many iProperties
based on predefine rules and business logic. iCenter leverages the existing information
found within an organization and makes the data accessible to all departments.
Drop Down Lists
Enables users to create custom drop down lists to quickly populate iProperty information,
improve data integrity and reduce overall data entry errors. Drop down lists can
be linked and driven from external data sources such as Microsoft Excel®, CSV
and TXT files. The ability to link custom drop down lists to iProperties provides
organizations with the ability to share and connect islands of information.
Database Connections
Enables workgroups to create custom drop down lists that are connected to a database
(such as a Microsoft Access®, Microsoft SQL Server® or PDM/CRM/ERP systems)
in order to pull live data to populate iProperty information. Linking to live databases
ensures that iProperties values are always current and accurate.
